I have a M18 fuel drill/driver combo kit (the 2897-22) and purchased it about 2. You should be able to figure it out based on serial number. The Milwaukee RECONDITIONED Tools Limited Warranty. The manufacturing date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period if no. With Test & Measurement Product is separately warranted by the battery manufacture.

Started buying some M18 tools, already got the fuel sawzall with 9amp battery new at Home Depot and jobsite radio charger with 4amp battery used off Craigslist for $40. I know I'll beat the crap out of the sawzall and may need the warrenty. The radio was worth it just for a year old battery let alone a second charger/radio.

Looking at the drill impact combo kit, I can save alot on Ebay, buying used but I don't think that is worth the piece ofor mind. I can save about $100 going 'new' but I don't know if there is a receipt for the warranty, should I just pony up and use homedepot or a verified vendor? Or is a new ebay /PayPal purchase reciept enough to get the warranty?

I am hoping to save alittle to put towards the fuel circular saw and have a complete set. Why would a company warranty something that may have been stolen, bought from a pawn shop or found along side the road? I fix and sell tools for a living. We have ran into instances where customer have bought tools off e-bay (and other locations) and when they received them parts of the serial numbers or date codes were missing. Just the other day we ran into a case where a customer brought in a tool for repair/warranty but the serial number was worn off, therefor no way to know the date of mfg.

Luckily the customer had his dated original receipt. Life was good, it would have been an expensive repair. Some company's will not warranty products if bought from certain ebay sellers. Also if one buys anything from anywhere keep the original receipt in a cool dark place, nothing worse than getting your receipt out a few years down the road and its now a blank piece of paper!

But I can’t quite figure this one out. If Amazon and Walmart are NOT authorized Milwaukee Tool dealers, where are they getting the tools from? This is as strange as when. A few months ago, Amazon was selling the M18 Fuel 7-1/4″ cordless miter saw – also directly – and I asked Milwaukee about whether Amazon not being an authorized dealer could lead to warranty or service complications. They replied: Since Amazon is not an authorized distributor, anyone who purchases our products from them is going to have warranty and service complications because their receipt will show that they purchased from an un-authorized dealer. So, that’s one reason to stick with authorized dealers. But the question remains – if Milwaukee Tool isn’t selling to Amazon or Walmart, where are they getting the tools from?
